Former Chicago Bulls forward and longtime broadcaster Stacey King has died at the age of 59.

The Chicago Bulls confirmed his passing on Sunday, though no cause of death was released. King entered the league as the sixth overall pick in the 1989 NBA Draft and quickly became part of a historic Chicago era, helping the Bulls secure three straight NBA titles alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen during their early 1990s run.

After his time in Chicago, King went on to play for several teams, including the Minnesota Timberwolves, Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, and Boston Celtics, before closing out his playing career.

While his championship rings defined his playing days, many fans came to know him in a different role entirely. In retirement, King became one of the most recognisable voices in Bulls broadcasting, bringing energy, humour, and sharp insight to every game he called.

His catchphrases and lively commentary turned him into a fan favourite, with many supporters saying his voice became just as tied to the franchise as the team’s on-court success.
