Gabrielle Henry Marks Public Return Six Months After Miss Universe Stage Fall

Gabrielle Henry, who holds the Miss Universe Jamaica title, has stepped back into the spotlight roughly half a year after a serious accident during a live pageant segment.

The medical doctor and pageant alumna was seen on Saturday at the Integrity Children's Fund Dinner en Rouge Gala in Atlanta. People magazine reported that she gave a moving address at the fundraiser, reflecting on the work of healing since her tumble at the Miss Universe competition last November.

Footage that circulated online at the time showed Henry crossing the runway in a sweeping orange evening dress during the preliminary gown segment in Thailand before she dropped from the edge of the stage. She received prompt care at a Bangkok hospital.

On 8 December, the Miss Universe Organization and members of Henry's family issued a statement confirming the injuries from the incident: bleeding inside the skull with a period of unconsciousness, broken bone trauma, cuts to the face, and additional major harm.
