1 min read

Regional officials in eastern France have confirmed that eleven people lost their lives when a civilian aircraft crashed in the area.

Police issued the warning on Sunday, telling residents and visitors to "strictly avoid" the zone surrounding the airport in Tomblaine. Local media outlets reported that the plane was transporting a party engaged in a skydiving activity.

The prefecture stated that the pilot and all ten passengers perished in the crash. Those aboard included five students and five instructors.

France's Interior Ministry announced that Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was en route to the accident location.
