Integrity Commission finds Wheatley cannot account for $164 million in assets

1 min read

The Integrity Commission’s Director of Investigation has concluded that Member of Parliament Dr. Andrew Wheatley held or acquired assets worth about $164 million that his lawful earnings between 2013 and 2022 cannot account for.

According to the report, Wheatley did not give an adequate explanation for the shortfall. Investigators also say he left loans, investments, and properties off his statutory declarations and did not meet information requests in full.

The Director of Investigation is calling for the case to be passed to the Director of Corruption Prosecution, Tax Administration Jamaica, and the Speaker of the House for follow-up action.
