Cassetta Green Named JANAAC Acting Chief Executive Officer Effective July 2026

2 min read

The Jamaica National Agency for Accreditation (JANAAC), which trades as JANAAC Global Accreditation, has appointed Ms. Cassetta Green as Acting Chief Executive Officer with effect from 1 July 2026.

The agency said the appointment is meant to maintain steady leadership at a critical point in its development and to help it deliver on its mandate, strategic targets and regional accreditation programme.

As Acting CEO, Green will head JANAAC's work to strengthen quality infrastructure in Jamaica and across the Caribbean, expand internationally recognised accreditation services, support trade facilitation and build stakeholder trust in the quality and integrity of goods and services.

JANAAC is the only internationally recognised accreditation body in the English-speaking Caribbean. It supports conformity assessment bodies — including laboratories, inspection bodies and certification bodies — in meeting international standards and gaining market access for regional exports.

Green brings 20 years of public-sector experience, with 15 years in senior leadership and six years in the accreditation field. Since September 2019, she has served as JANAAC's Director, Strategic Planning, Business Development and Promotions, leading business development and promotional work that helped broaden the agency's Caribbean reach and strengthen quality infrastructure systems.

She also sits on national, regional and international committees dealing with accreditation, trade and quality matters, experience the board says will support continued engagement with key partners and stakeholders.

Her leadership is expected to advance JANAAC's focus on service excellence, regional growth, strategic performance and aligning accreditation services with Jamaica's economic development, export priorities and quality infrastructure goals.

The appointment follows the demission of office by Dr. Yvette Castell, effective 26 June 2026. Dr. Castell had held the acting CEO role since October 2024. The Board of Directors thanked her for her service and contributions during her tenure.

JANAAC said it remains committed to promoting quality assurance and trade facilitation in Jamaica, the Caribbean and beyond through technical training and accreditation services for laboratories, inspection and certification bodies across 11 CARICOM states.
