1 min read

Serena Williams has increased her training load as she moves toward a much-anticipated appearance at Wimbledon. The 23-time Grand Slam champion has taken a wildcard into this year's event and will join the singles main draw for the first time in four years.

Since confirming her comeback, Williams has made preparation her priority. She has been a steady presence on the practice courts at Aorangi Park.

This week, she shared sessions with Maria Sakkari and was also on site with Novak Djokovic and Stan Wawrinka. Public interest in her return remains high, with supporters keen to see her back on the grass courts at SW19.

Her singles opponents will be known once the draw is released in the coming days. Williams will also team up with her sister, Venus Williams, in the doubles event.
