Jamaica CPI Rises 0.8% in June on Transport and Food Costs

1 min read

Jamaica’s Consumer Price Index advanced 0.8 per cent in June 2026, the Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) has reported.

Transport led the movement, rising 4.3 per cent after route taxi and hackney carriage fares were increased. Food prices were up 0.7 per cent, linked to dearer vegetables such as carrots, cabbages, onions and sweet peppers.

Higher household rents and electricity charges also fed into the overall rise. The Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels division moved up 0.5 per cent.

Jamaica’s point-to-point inflation rate for the 12 months ending June 2026 was 6.7 per cent.
