St Andrew motorist charged after alleged $1,000 bribe at traffic stop
Police have charged Bryon Nunez, a 63-year-old St Andrew resident, with allegedly offering a $1,000 bribe to an officer during a traffic stop.
The police report that about 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 17, officers on duty in Arcadia, St Andrew, saw Nunez driving a Suzuki Swift without a seat belt. He was directed to pull over and did so.
Officers then told him he had committed a traffic offence and that a ticket would be issued. Nunez allegedly took $1,000 from his wallet and offered it to the policeman, saying he would pay him not to write the ticket.
He was arrested and later charged. A court date is still being set.
