Jamaica Developing Mobile App to Connect Domestic Violence Survivors With National Hotline

1 min read

Work is underway on a mobile application designed to give people experiencing domestic violence a confidential route to request assistance. Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sport, Hon. Olivia Grange, said the platform will tie into the National 24-hour Domestic Violence Hotline and provide a private, secure, and easy-to-use channel for response, support, and action against gender-based violence.

Grange shared the update on June 30 as she made her contribution to the 2026/27 Sectoral Debate in the House of Representatives.

"The app will enable us to offer Next Level services as part of our Continuum of Care for Survivors of Gender-Based Violence. The app is coming but the hotline is open," she said.

Until the application is ready, she urged anyone who needs help to call 876-553-0372.

"We will help you," Minister Grange said.
