Stony Hill murder suspect charged as police detain three in Mount Alvernia cyberbullying probe
St. James police have taken three people into custody as they investigate a prolonged cyberbullying campaign against two students at Mount Alvernia High School, where impersonation, defamatory posts and serious threats have targeted the girls since last October.
Senior Superintendent Irn Samuels said the property investigation unit acted swiftly after recent developments, recorded statements from those involved, and is arranging counselling. Principal Karen Wine said the school has maintained a zero-tolerance approach and is supporting the affected pupils, though she believes the aggressors may be part of a wider ring of students from other schools. Parents said fake social media pages used the children's images, reappeared on WhatsApp groups in December, and escalated on Father's Day with false claims that one girl's father was molesting her. One parent said her daughter wants a public apology rather than expulsions.
