Civil Case Against Mystikal Moves Forward After Rapper's 20-Year Rape Sentence

1 min read

A woman who has accused rapper Mystikal of rape is keeping her civil claim alive against him, even after he pleaded guilty in a related criminal matter and was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

Court filings say the woman went to Mystikal's home in Prairieville, Louisiana, in July 2022. She states that the visit started without incident but turned hostile once the rapper accused her of taking money from him.

In the lawsuit, she alleges Mystikal punched and choked her, causing several injuries. She also says he forced her to take off her clothes, spat in her face, poured rubbing alcohol on her, and threatened her with scissors. The filing further claims he told her to kneel and pray with him before sexually assaulting her. She says she was too afraid to resist and that he raped her both vaginally and anally.

The suit also states that Mystikal later made her search his house for the money he believed was missing and pushed her to send him $150 through a payment app. She says the episode left her with physical injuries, emotional distress, and time lost from work.

Her civil case is still active and seeks damages linked to the alleged assault and what followed. In the criminal proceedings, Mystikal pleaded guilty to third-degree rape and received a 20-year prison sentence.
