Six affordable AI tools Caribbean entrepreneurs can use to run daily business operations

Small business owners across the Caribbean who want to bring artificial intelligence into everyday operations can assemble a lean six-tool stack covering writing, design, finance, marketing, appointments and workflow automation. Total monthly spend ranges from about US$35 to US$82, depending on which free tiers are kept in place.

Claude Pro, at US$20 per month, works as a drafting and thinking partner for proposals, client emails, social media captions, service packages and pricing decisions. Strong results depend on learning to prompt it well — much like briefing a sharp employee.

Canva Pro costs US$15 monthly and acts as a creative hub. AI features such as Magic Write, Magic Design and a background remover help produce professional social posts, flyers, price lists and pitch decks in minutes — especially useful for owners who have been paying freelancers for graphic work.

For bookkeeping, Wave is free and purpose-built for small firms, handling invoicing, payment tracking and basic financial reports. Zoho Invoice, at US$16 per month, adds more automation and client portals. Either option can ease the problem of chasing payments.

Mailchimp is free and scales to US$13 monthly. The free plan covers up to 500 contacts and 1,000 emails per month — enough for many small Caribbean businesses to send promotions, keep customer lists active and automate follow-ups after someone books or buys.

Calendly is also free, with paid plans up to US$10 monthly. Owners share one link, clients pick a time and reminders go out automatically — saving hours of back-and-forth scheduling each week while handling Caribbean time zones cleanly.

Zapier, from free to US$20 monthly, connects the stack. When a new Calendly booking comes in, Zapier can add it to Google Sheets and trigger a Mailchimp welcome email. The free plan allows up to five automations, which is enough to start.

On a tight budget, the full package can run for about US$35 monthly by paying for Claude and Canva while keeping the other four tools on free tiers. A practical starting point is Calendly and Wave, since scheduling and getting paid are often the most painful daily problems — and both offer meaningful free access. Claude Pro can follow once owners are ready to delegate writing and thinking tasks.
