St Catherine farmer robbed of $100,000 after Probox forces him off road

1 min readSt. Catherine

Police in St Catherine are probing a late-night hold-up in which a 47-year-old farmer allegedly lost about $100,000 after gunmen forced his vehicle from the roadway on Friday.

According to reports, the farmer was heading toward Barry District around 11:00 p.m. on July 17 when he reached Eleven Miles. A Toyota Probox then cut across his path, causing him to leave the road.

Two men carrying firearms are said to have exited the Probox, confronted the farmer, and took a bag holding approximately $100,000. The pair then drove off in the same vehicle.

The incident was filed with the Guanaboa Vale Police, who continue to investigate.
