Aidonia Caps Appleton Live Wire in St Andrew as Tour Widens Islandwide

Dancehall heavyweight Aidonia closed out the latest Appleton Estate Live Wire as the main act at Usain Bolt’s Tracks & Records in Marketplace, St Andrew, drawing a full house to the well-known nightspot for a night built around strong music, culture, and live performance.

The room stayed lively from the opening sets through the headliner’s run. Aidonia, noted for tight writing and strong command of the stage, began just before midnight and worked through a high-tempo set of fan staples and current hits, backed by the Ruff Kutt Krew. The playlist included Bad People, Empty, Trigger Work It, Run Road, Anyweh at All, and Fi Di Jockey, keeping the crowd locked in from the first song.

Partway through, he took off a lemon-coloured jacket before protégé Govana walked on without warning to join him for their single Breeze. Govana pushed the pace further with Mawning Sir, then left the stage. Earlier, rising act Amanyea had already set the pace with originals such as Friends + Tax, Still Go Dance, La La, and Bad Gyal Szn, and held interest with renditions of material by Beyoncé, Michael Jackson, Tanya Stephens, and Dexta Daps.

After the strong St Andrew showing, Appleton Estate Live Wire will roll out to more parishes. The next date is set for Plantation Smokehouse in St Ann on 5 August.
