Alkaline New Rules dates in Miami and Philadelphia delayed after bereavement

The Reggae Fest Tour has delayed two additional New Rules concerts starring dancehall artiste Alkaline, after an earlier decision to postpone the Atlanta leg because of a bereavement in the family.

Promoter CJ Milan announced the update in a statement posted to the Reggae Fest Tour's official social media accounts, confirming that the Miami and Philadelphia events will not go ahead as first scheduled.

Organisers said the team had at first expected to proceed with the Atlanta, Miami and Philadelphia shows, even as they dealt with the loss. Following more internal discussions, they concluded that pushing back the dates was the most appropriate step.

"This decision was not made lightly," the statement said. The message also included an apology to fans, sponsors, partners and ticket holders affected by the late changes.

The postponed stops are the Miami show at Kaseya Center, which had been set for May 22, and the Philadelphia date at Xfinity Mobile Arena, previously listed for June 13th. Organisers said tickets already bought for the affected events will be refunded, and replacement dates are to be released soon.

The Reggae Fest team also expressed gratitude to supporters for their patience and understanding during what it called a difficult time.

The delay comes as the United States live entertainment business faces broader pressure. In recent months, a number of major performers in rap and pop have cancelled or moved tour dates as worries about ticket demand have increased.

Among the notable disruptions are Post Malone pushing back the opening of his tour and Waka Flocka Flame calling off New York performances. People in the industry have described the pattern as "Blue Dot Fever", a reference to the blue unsold seats that can appear on ticketing websites before concerts.

Analysts have linked weaker attendance in 2026 to higher ticket costs, a crowded touring calendar and shifts in how consumers are spending their money.

There is no sign that ticket sales were behind the Reggae Fest changes. Still, the Alkaline postponements are happening while promoters and artistes across different genres are under heavier strain on the touring circuit. Even with the delay, his supporters are still waiting for the New Rules US dates to return to the schedule.
