NHF Data Threat Referred To MOCA After Hackers Post Breach Claim

1 min read

The National Health Fund says a hacking group has contacted it with claims that it has reached some of the agency’s data.

The issue drew public attention on social media this morning after posts alleged that 2.9 terabytes of information had been taken from the Fund. Pear, the group behind the claim, placed the NHF on its leak site and said the material involved financial documents, human resource records, medical files and other personal information.

Speaking at a post-Cabinet media briefing this morning, Health Minister Dr. Christopher Tufton said the NHF had referred the matter to the Office of the Information Commissioner and the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency. He also said measures have been put in place to strengthen data protection.
