Syphilis diagnosis should lead to partner testing and treatment

A syphilis diagnosis is only one part of care. Sexual partners should also be tested and treated when needed.

When infection remains untreated in either person, it can be passed back and forth between partners. That pattern increases health risks for everyone involved.
