Brownstone lift KSAFA championship with 2-0 win over C-V Gardens at Constant Spring
Brownstone are the 2026 KSAFA champions after a hard-fought 2-0 win over C-V Gardens in Saturday night’s final at Constant Spring.
Playing in white against C-V Gardens in blue, Brownstone took control of a physical, end-to-end match when Damian Worms turned home a Chinri Calder delivery in the 26th minute. Calder had been the creative hub all evening, and Worms finished from close range after the defence failed to deal with a ball to the back post.
Goalkeeper Damian Francis was central to Brownstone’s resistance. He denied several set-piece threats, including a point-blank header from Jav Green, as C-V Gardens grew into the second half under coach Lance D Costa. Substitute Daniel Lewis helped C-V Gardens improve their buildup, and they finished with more attempts and corners, but Francis and a disciplined back line led by Carl Campbell held firm.
Brownstone, coached by Donovan Lofters, had already shown their resilience in the semi-final against Constant Spring, where they scored early, lost a man to a red card, and still won 1-0. They repeated the pattern in the final: absorb pressure, then punish C-V Gardens on the break. With C-V Gardens pushing for an equaliser late on, substitute Javon Shepard sealed the result, slotting past Gary Hamilton after the visitors were caught short at the back.
The win sends Brownstone along the pathway toward the Jamaica Football Federation’s second tier and keeps alive their ambition of eventually reaching the Jamaica Premier League. C-V Gardens, who had won the KSAFA major league the previous season, could not find a way past Francis despite Kalani Brown, Zenard Street and Green creating danger throughout the second half.
At full time it was Brownstone 2, C-V Gardens 0 — a result that reflected Brownstone’s clinical finishing and defensive grit on a night when Constant Spring was filled to capacity.
