Canadian High Commissioner Mark Berman Marks Read Across Jamaica Day at Jamaica House Basic School

Students at Jamaica House Basic School were beaming as Canada’s High Commissioner to Jamaica, Mark Berman, visited for a special Read Across Jamaica Day activity.

During the session, Berman read to the children and took time to interact with them, underscoring why literacy in the early years is important and why children should build reading habits from a young age.

His stop at the school also brought practical support, with a donation of storybooks and school supplies aimed at strengthening literacy growth and day-to-day classroom learning.
