First Global Bank appoints Brendan King as Chairman, announces Board refresh

First Global Bank Limited (FGB), a member of the GraceKennedy Financial Group (GKFG) and a subsidiary of GraceKennedy Limited, has announced the appointment of Brendan King as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
King brings more than 30 years of international banking and financial services experience to the role, having spent three decades with Scotiabank in senior leadership roles across markets in Asia, the Caribbean, and Canada. His background spans commercial banking, wealth management, operations, risk oversight, strategy execution, and governance, including responsibility for multi-market business performance and transformation initiatives.
King succeeds Peter Moses, who had served as Chairman of FGB since 2017. During his tenure, Moses provided disciplined governance and steady leadership through a period of strategic growth and institutional strengthening for the Bank. The Board of Directors and Management of FGB has expressed their sincere appreciation for Moses’ significant contribution to the bank’s continued progress.
In addition to King’s appointment as Chairman, which became effective on November 26, 2025, FGB has refreshed its Board with the addition of Septimus “Bob” Blake, former CEO of National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited, who brings more than 25 years of experience in banking, treasury, payments, digital transformation, and financial services leadership; Laurene Augier, former PwC partner with extensive expertise in audit, governance, and financial services; and Donovan Walker, attorney-at-law and partner at Hart Muirhead Fatta with significant experience in corporate and commercial law. The appointments of Augier and Walker remain subject to regulatory approval.

Commenting on the changes, Steven Whittingham, CEO of GKFG, said, “FGB continues to play an important role in GKFG’s long-term growth strategy, and these changes further strengthen the depth of experience and governance oversight at the Board level. Brendan brings extensive regional and international banking experience, while Bob, Laurene, and Donovan each add significant expertise across financial services, governance, law, and business leadership. Together, they will provide valuable guidance and support as FGB continues to execute on its strategic priorities.”
Radcliffe Daley, President & CEO of FGB, added, “We are pleased to welcome Brendan as Chair and further enhance our Board with the addition of Laurene, Bob and Donovan. Their collective experience and fresh perspectives will support the continued advancement of FGB as we remain focused on execution, innovation, operational excellence, and delivering an outstanding experience for our clients.”
Commenting on his appointment, King stated, “It is an honour to serve as Chairman of First Global Bank. The Bank has a strong foundation, a clear strategic direction, and a deep commitment to its customers. I look forward to working closely with the Board, management team, and the wider GraceKennedy Group to support continued growth, innovation, and sustainable value creation.”
The Board of Directors of First Global Bank now comprises Brendan King (Chairman), Herma McRae, Septimus “Bob” Blake, Professor Gordon Shirley, Frank James, Steven Whittingham, Radcliffe Daley, Laurene Augier and Donovan Walker.
