Former Accompong Maroon Leaders Raise Concerns Over Election Process Under Richard Currie

Share

Former colonels Meredith Rowe and Ferron Williams have raised concerns about the upcoming Accompong Maroon leadership election, which is being overseen by incumbent chief Richard Currie.

They argue that the process and timeline are unfair, and have called for intervention from the Government of Jamaica, while also indicating plans to pursue legal action.

Rowe and Williams also questioned changes to the voters’ list and said past election procedures were more transparent and collaborative.

Currie has defended his administration, saying the election represents an opportunity to focus on leadership, legacy, and community development.
