Dancehall artiste Munga Honourable has officially been freed of a murder charge stemming from the 2017 killing of Cleveland Smith in Ackee Walk, St Andrew.
The entertainer had spent several years before the courts in connection with the case, which was delayed multiple times due to the absence of witnesses. According to his attorney, Christopher Townsend, the court ruled that there were too many inconsistencies in the evidence presented by the prosecution’s sole eyewitness. As a result, the case was dismissed and Munga Honourable was freed of the charge.
The ruling brings an end to a lengthy legal battle that has followed the dancehall artiste for years, marking a major turning point in one of Jamaica’s most closely watched entertainment-related court cases.
Sources close to the artiste say he is relieved to finally put the matter behind him and is now shifting his focus back to music, with plans already being discussed for an upcoming world tour, which will be powered by Life Line Entertainment.
