Raducanu turns back to US Open winning coach Richardson ahead of clay season

Emma Raducanu has rejoined Andrew Richardson on a full-time basis, bringing back the coach who guided her to her stunning US Open triumph as an 18-year-old qualifier in 2021.
The pair are currently working together in Strasbourg as Raducanu prepares for the WTA event there, which serves as the final tune-up before the French Open begins on May 24. Richardson has been in her corner during training in Spain as well, where their renewed collaboration began earlier this month.
Raducanu is set to return to competition in Strasbourg after a 10-week break since her Indian Wells defeat to Amanda Anisimova in March. She has received a wildcard entry as she looks to build rhythm on clay ahead of Roland Garros.
Their reunion also carries a familiar sense of history, with Richardson guiding her through one of the most remarkable runs in tennis when she won the US Open without dropping a set.
The 23-year-old has been without a steady coaching setup in recent months following her split with Francisco Roig after the Australian Open and earlier changes to her team. With her ranking now at 37, she is expected to miss out on a seeded spot in Paris as she continues her return to full tour action.
