Romaine Mitchell charged with murder after Clarendon policeman’s body found

Romaine Mitchell has been charged with murder in connection with the death of Police Corporal Sylvester Reid, according to credible accounts.
The 42-year-old corporal’s decomposing remains were discovered on 28 April along the Parnassus main road in York Town, Clarendon.
Mitchell was brought before the May Pen Court during the past week and is scheduled to return on 21 May for a bail application.
Corporal Reid, who also worked as a businessman and ministered as a pastor, was reported missing on 15 April.
Mitchell is understood to have shared quarters with the deceased officer.
He was already in custody in relation to the policeman’s disappearance and is said to have guided investigators to Corporal Reid’s body.
