Six uncapped players named in Jamaica squad for Unity Cup in England
Jamaica have added six new faces to a 24-man Reggae Boyz squad for the Unity Cup, which is scheduled for the Charlton Athletic Club in England and will also involve Nigeria, Zimbabwe and India.
Among the fresh call-ups is 16-year-old striker Kayden Cole Cadamarteri, who could line up with his older brother Bailey Cadamarteri. If both play, they would become the sixth set of brothers to appear for Jamaica in senior international football. Kayden Cole, born in Scotland, is attached to Manchester City, who brought him in from Sheffield Wednesday in 2025 for £1.5 million. Bailey, 21, debuted for Jamaica in 2025 against Trinidad and Tobago during World Cup qualifying and has scored twice in six appearances.
The other newcomers are Everton defender Odin Samuels-Smith, 19; PSV Eindhoven right-sided defender Marlon Vandenweele, 18; Walsall midfielder Courtney Clarke, 23; Derby County forward Dujuan Brown, 20; and 19-year-old forward Nick Simmons. Vandenweele recently featured for Jamaica’s under-20 team, which won five consecutive matches in the Concacaf under-20 World Cup qualifiers in Curaçao, where he supplied three assists.
Simmons has previously represented Jamaica at under-17 and under-20 levels. He is the brother of Reggae Girl Cameron Simmons and the son and grandson of former national players Gregory Simmons and Patrick Simmons.
Goalkeeper Joshua Grant, who played in two 2025 friendlies against Trinidad and Tobago, is also in the group. Coniah Boyce-Clarke has been recalled after last representing Jamaica in 2024, while Brandon Cover, who was part of the 2025 Unity Cup squad, is back. Kaheem Dixon, omitted from Jamaica’s Intercontinental World Cup playoff fixtures, has also been selected.
The local-based contingent comprises Mount Pleasant FA’s Tafari Chambers and Raheem Edwards, Cavalier pair Giovanni Laing and Christopher Ainsworth, Racing United’s Nichkael Ellis, Montego Bay United’s Dwayne Merrick and Tivoli Gardens’ Nicholia Fulham. Damian Lowe, Joel Latibeaudiere, Ronaldo Webster, Dexter Lembikisa and Isaac Hayden are the other members retained from Jamaica’s unsuccessful World Cup qualifying campaign.
