Skip the Brunch: Celebrate Father’s Day 2026 at the Island SPACE Mango Festival

South Florida’s love affair with mangoes is set to continue this summer as the Island SPACE Mango Festival returns on Sunday, June 21, bringing together Caribbean food, culture, music and family-friendly entertainment in one vibrant celebration.

Hosted by Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, the festival will take place from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Charles F. Dodge City Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida. Now in its third year, the event has grown into one of South Florida’s most distinctive Caribbean cultural festivals, attracting food lovers, families and mango enthusiasts from across the region.

A Celebration of Caribbean Mango Culture

At the heart of the festival is the mango itself, one of the Caribbean’s most beloved fruits.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the popular Mango Walk, featuring rare and exotic mango varieties from across the Caribbean and beyond. Guests can learn about different cultivars, purchase fresh mangoes, and even bid on select varieties during a live mango auction at the end of the event.

For those looking for a more immersive experience, organisers are once again offering the Mango Sommelier Experience. The guided tasting introduces guests to a range of rare mangoes while exploring their flavour profiles, textures, aromas and origins. Participants will also receive mango-themed take-home goodies as part of the premium experience.

Caribbean Celebrity Chefs Take Centre Stage

Food lovers can look forward to live culinary demonstrations from an impressive lineup of Caribbean chefs representing several islands and territories.

Among the featured chefs are Jamaica’s Chef Irie, Haiti’s Chef Thia from Taste the Islands on PBS, Chef Winston Williams representing the U.S. Virgin Islands, and Chef Guillermo Vasquez and Gabriella Zapata showcasing flavours from the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico. Throughout the afternoon, they will prepare mango-inspired dishes while sharing cooking techniques, culinary traditions and stories from across the Caribbean.

The festival will also feature artisan food vendors, workshops on growing mangoes, mango grafting demonstrations and opportunities to purchase fresh Caribbean mangoes by the box or individually.

A Special Father’s Day Experience

Since this year’s festival falls on Father’s Day, organisers have introduced a new premium experience called Daddy’s Kingdom, created especially for fathers and father figures.

The experience includes access to a VIP lounge featuring throne-style photo opportunities, games, giveaways, treats and pampering experiences designed specifically for dads. Fathers will also have a chance to compete in the Daddy Mango Eating Competition and participate in soccer-themed activities throughout the afternoon.

“This is not the usual Father’s Day brunch or barbecue,” said Calibe Thompson, Executive Director of Island SPACE Caribbean Museum. “This is an afternoon where Dad gets to feel celebrated while the entire family enjoys an incredible cultural experience together.”

Caribbean Vibes Before the World Cup

Adding another layer of excitement, the festival takes place just hours before the FIFA World Cup match between Uruguay and Cape Verde at nearby Hard Rock Stadium.

Located less than 20 minutes from the stadium, the festival offers visitors and football fans an opportunity to enjoy Caribbean food, culture and entertainment before heading to the evening match. Organisers expect increased attendance as international visitors arrive in South Florida for World Cup activities.

Throughout the day, guests will enjoy live performances from Bigg G and KBM Live, steelpan music, dance showcases from SocaFit and KOTR Kompa Dance Company, and a variety of family-friendly activities.

Supporting Caribbean Culture in South Florida

The festival is one of several signature events organised by Island SPACE Caribbean Museum, the world’s only pan-Caribbean heritage museum. Through exhibitions, educational programmes and cultural events, the museum works to preserve and celebrate Caribbean history, art and culture throughout South Florida and beyond.

Tickets for the festival start at US$25 in advance for adults and US$10 for children, with premium experiences available for US$50. Organisers expect more than 1,500 attendees this year as the event continues to grow in popularity. For more information and to purchase tickets, visit the festival website.

For Caribbean families, food lovers and visitors looking for an authentic island experience, the Island SPACE Mango Festival promises an afternoon filled with flavour, culture and community.
