South Coast comes alive as Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival delivers another hit event

Thousands of seafood lovers, music enthusiasts and families descended on Jamaica’s south coast on Sunday, July 12th for the successful staging of the Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival 2026, with organisers reporting one of the largest turnouts in the event’s history.
Held under the theme “Where Legends Are Born,” this year’s festival exceeded attendance from the previous staging, reinforcing its position as one of Jamaica’s premier culinary and entertainment events and a major draw for domestic and international visitors.
From early morning, patrons poured into Little Ochie in Alligator Pond, Manchester, where they enjoyed an authentic celebration of Jamaican seafood, culture, music and community. The event delivered a vibrant atmosphere filled with great food, family-friendly activities and nonstop entertainment throughout the day.
One of the biggest highlights of the festival was the exceptional entertainment package featuring Busy Signal, Shaneil Muir and Queen Ifrica, who each delivered memorable performances that kept the audience engaged well into the night.

International reggae and dancehall star Busy Signal thrilled fans with an energetic set packed with many of his chart-topping hits, while Shaneil Muir captivated the crowd with her powerful vocals and commanding stage presence. Reggae icon Queen Ifrica closed the evening with an inspiring performance that celebrated reggae music, culture and conscious lyrics, bringing the festival to a fitting conclusion.
“The response this year was simply phenomenal,” said the organisers. “We welcomed even more patrons than last year, and the energy throughout the day was incredible.
“From the food and family activities to the entertainment, everything came together to create an unforgettable experience. We are grateful to everyone who travelled from across Jamaica and overseas to celebrate with us.
“Beyond the performances, patrons indulged in Little Ochie’s famous selection of freshly prepared seafood, showcasing the rich flavours and culinary traditions that have made the destination one of Jamaica’s most beloved attractions. Vendors also reported strong sales throughout the day, highlighting the festival’s growing economic impact on the local community.”
The event once again demonstrated its importance in promoting tourism on Jamaica’s south coast while providing valuable business opportunities for food vendors, artisans, entertainers and entrepreneurs.
Organisers also expressed sincere appreciation to title sponsor Bigga, whose return helped elevate this year’s staging, along with Legend, the official beer sponsor, Rum-Bar, the official rum sponsor, Excelsior, Coca-Cola, Wata, Rainforest and the many corporate partners whose support contributed to the event’s success.

With another successful staging now complete, organisers are already looking ahead to building on this year’s momentum and delivering an even bigger and better experience for patrons in 2027.
The Bigga Little Ochie Seafood Carnival continues to grow as one of Jamaica’s signature summer festivals, offering the perfect blend of authentic seafood, world-class entertainment and the warm hospitality for which the south coast is renowned.
