St Catherine Farmer Charged: A 36-year-old farmer from Bois Content, Old Harbour, St Catherine, has been charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a bus driver with a pitchfork on Wednesday night.
The accused, Peter Fable of Free Marlie, Bois Content, is charged in connection with the death of 33-year-old Mario Newell, a bus driver from Joe Brown district in Bois Content.
According to police reports, at approximately 10:00 p.m. on July 1, Fable allegedly armed himself with a pitchfork and approached Newell, reportedly telling him that he had “something” to give him.
Investigators say Fable then allegedly stabbed Newell multiple times in the chest and face with the pitchfork before fleeing the scene.
Newell was rushed to the May Pen Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Following an investigation by the Old Harbour police, Fable was apprehended during a police operation and taken into custody. He was formally charged with murder on July 2 after participating in a question-and-answer session in the presence of his attorney.
