Two Jamaican Farm Workers Killed

Two Jamaican Farm Workers Killed: Two Jamaican farm workers have died following a motor vehicle crash in Ontario, Canada.

The victims were identified as David Lindsay of Lawrence Tavern, St. Andrew, and Rupert Bell of Old Harbour, St. Catherine. Both were participants in the Seasonal Agricultural Workers Programme (SAWP) and arrived in Canada for the current season on March 18.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, the crash involved an off-road utility vehicle and an SUV shortly after 4:00 p.m. Two occupants of the utility vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene, while another was injured. The SUV driver was also hospitalized.

The Ministry of Labour and Social Security expressed sadness over the deaths and said it remains in contact with Canadian authorities as investigations continue.
