EPL Champions Arsenal has renewed its interest in signing the Brazilian winger Vinicius Junior, who plays with Real Madrid.

His contract at the Spanish club is coming to an end, and he is negotiating a renewal, but negotiations have become protracted.

Some football analysts believe that Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior cancel each other out, and with Jose Mourinho back in charge as Head Coach, he will be looking to recalibrate the team.

There has been some unease in the Real Madrid dressing room where Mbappe and Vinicius Junior are dominant forces. A move for Vinicius Junior might help calm things down.

However, word comes that Mourinho does not want Vinicius Junior to leave and sees him as an integral part of his plans to have him form part of the most potent front line in club football.

According to Spanish journalist Jorge C.Picon, Vinicius Junior is eager to sign a new deal with Real Madrid.

Although Brazil was disappointing at the World Cup 2026, beaten by Norway in the round of 16, Vinicius Junior distinguished himself by playing well throughout the tournament.

Arsenal’s Head Coach Mikel Arteta has noted that Vinicius Junior scored 22 goals with 14 assists last season and sees him as a player who can strengthen Arsenal’s left wing.

Vinicius Junior cost Real Madrid 45 million euros back in 2017. He is now 26 years old and a world superstar. Real Madrid are saying the price tag for the Brazilian is north of 160 million euros.

Vinicius Junior remains under contract to Real Madrid until June 2027.
