Jurassic Park star Sam Neill dies aged 78
Sam Neill, the New Zealand performer celebrated for appearances in Jurassic Park, Peaky Blinders and The Piano, has died at 78.
His relatives said the Sydney resident’s death came without warning in Australia. No cause has been made public.
Across a working life of more than 50 years, Neill took parts in excess of 50 motion pictures and rose to stand among New Zealand’s best-known screen figures.
In 2022 he disclosed that doctors had identified a rare non-Hodgkin lymphoma. He later reported that the illness had cleared. That same year he was knighted for his work in cinema.
