Audine McIntosh named 2025 Dr Barry Wint Memorial Scholarship recipient
Audine McIntosh has been recognised as one of the 2025 recipients of the Dr Barry Wint Memorial Scholarship, receiving the award during the programme's second annual ceremony for scholarship awardees.
Speaking at the event, McIntosh said the scholarship carries deep personal value because it helps to advance her plan to become a registered nurse. She said the assistance has moved her another step closer to that goal as she continues her studies.
McIntosh said she sees nursing as a calling on her life. According to her, that sense of purpose became clear through volunteer work she did in high school and through time spent helping elderly people. She said those experiences confirmed that this is the field she wants to pursue.
The ceremony marked the second year of the Dr Barry Wint Memorial Scholarship and celebrated a second cohort of awardees. During the exchange, congratulations were extended to McIntosh, along with encouragement for the rest of her training.
It was also noted during the presentation that McIntosh has two years left in her course of study. She was wished success in the period ahead, with speakers expressing confidence that her studies will go well and saying they look forward to seeing the contribution she will eventually make to the healthcare system.
Responding to the recognition and the support offered to her, McIntosh expressed gratitude and thanked the organisers.
