Santa Cruz Water Main Upgrade to Improve NWC Service in St. Elizabeth

1 min readSt. Elizabeth

More than 1,000 National Water Commission customers in Santa Cruz, St. Elizabeth, are expected to receive better water service through the Santa Cruz Bypass Main Replacement Project.

Water Minister Matthew Samuda said the works form the newest stage of the wider programme to upgrade water supply in Santa Cruz. At yesterday's ground-breaking ceremony, Samuda said a three-inch cast iron main, laid more than 50 years ago, will be changed out for a stronger six-inch ductile iron pipeline.

He said users in nearby areas, including New River, Brighton, Friendship Street and Doctor Rock, should also see gains. The project is due to be finished in November.
