Education Ministry Commits Over $319 Million to Restore Knox College After Hurricane Melissa
The Ministry of Education, Skills, Youth and Information has set aside more than $319 million to bring Knox College back into service after Hurricane Melissa struck the institution.
Money channelled through the National Education Trust will go toward fixing classroom blocks, boarding hostels and damaged electrical networks.
State Minister Rhoda Moy Crawford told the 2026 graduating class that contractors are expected to move on site during the summer break.
The October 2025 storm left widespread structural harm and electrical failures across the campus, prompting school leaders to shut the grounds temporarily.
