Brandon Hill construction worker charged with murder after domino game stabbing

1 min readClarendon

Fifty-year-old Shaun Cotterell, also known as 'Bobby,' a construction worker from Brandon Hill in Clarendon, has been charged with murder after a man from his community was stabbed to death on June 28.

The victim has been identified as 69-year-old Errol Nelson, also called 'Blacka,' a farmer from the same Brandon Hill district.

Reports indicate that around 2:00 p.m., Nelson was at his business premises playing dominoes with Cotterell when an argument started between them and grew into a physical fight.

During the clash, Cotterell is alleged to have taken out a knife and stabbed Nelson several times before leaving the scene.

The police were called, and when officers arrived, they found Nelson's body face down on the roadway in a pool of blood. The area was processed and the body was later taken to the morgue.

That same day, Cotterell surrendered at the Frankfield Police Station. He was then taken to the May Pen Police Station, where he was held on reasonable suspicion of murder.

On the day after, Cotterell reportedly gave the police a confession statement and was formally charged with murder. His court date is still being arranged.
