Shaw’s late double overturns two-goal Chelsea lead and books Manchester City for Women’s FA Cup final

Khadija Shaw, widely called Bunny, struck twice near the end of regulation and in the added period to hand Manchester City a 3-2 comeback victory over Chelsea in Sunday’s Women’s FA Cup semi-final.

Across the previous week the Jamaican international had drawn heavy press attention amid talk of a high-value transfer to Chelsea, at the same time her club secured the Women’s Super League crown and she picked up the 2026 Football Writers’ Association Women’s Footballer of the Year prize.

With that backdrop, supporters focused sharply on Shaw in a high-stakes meeting with a club City contest fiercely and that transfer stories have repeatedly named; she produced the decisive moments.

Chelsea went two goals up through Sam Kerr and Erin Cuthbert and for long stretches looked set to advance to the decider until the pattern shifted.

When four minutes of ordinary time remained, Mary Fowler reduced the margin for City, after which Shaw drew the sides level during stoppage time.

The Jamaican forward then steered in a headed finish in the thirteenth minute of extra time to put Manchester City in front for good.

Manchester City will take on Brighton at Wembley Stadium in the final on 31 May.
