Callaloo Henry Rides 40-1 Longshot Smooth an Easy to Gulfstream Maiden Win

1 min read

Jamaican rider Wesley "Callaloo" Henry notched another Gulfstream Park score on Friday, May 15, 2026, when Smooth an Easy paid off at 40-1 in a Maiden Claiming event.

The Douglas Seyler-trained runner was well back early in the one-mile dirt race but rallied to win by half a length.

Smooth an Easy was held off the front rank at the start. Henry asked for progress along the two path approaching the quarter pole, shifted wider down the lane to pass horses on the outside, and kept the pressure on through the final furlongs to hit the wire first.

Zenick was runner-up with Diego Herrera aboard, and Be Wise Bob took third for Samy Camacho. The winning time for the mile was 1:38.0.
