Thomas Partey Out Of Ghana’s Toronto Opener After Canadian Visa Refusal

1 min read

Ghana will start its World Cup campaign without midfielder Thomas Partey, whose Canadian visa request was refused while he faces a pending rape trial in London. FIFA said Partey cannot travel to Toronto for the Panama match.

Officials stated that entry decisions rest with the host nation, and Partey is expected to rejoin Ghana’s Rhode Island camp. He remains available for later games. Morocco’s Achraf Hakimi is also reportedly dealing with legal proceedings before the tournament.
