Carey McLeod given two-year World Athletics ban for whereabouts breaches

Carey McLeod, the 2024 World Indoor Championships bronze medallist, has been suspended by World Athletics for two years after acknowledging three whereabouts breaches.
The former two-time national champion accepted the penalty following a finding by the Athletics Integrity Unit that he violated article 2.4 of the World Athletics anti-doping rules. That provision covers missed tests and filing failures for athletes who are part of a registered testing pool.
McLeod is barred from competition until May 28, 2028. The sanction also wipes out his results from May 1, 2026, and requires him to give up any medals, points, prizes and earnings from that period.
According to the Athletics Integrity Unit, the three failures were recorded between June 30, 2025, and May 1, 2026, through a mix of missed tests and filing lapses.
