
Carlton Cunningham Lands Three-Win Racing Haul to Reach Eight for Season
Carlton “Jerry” Cunningham strengthened his 2026 numbers on Monday, May 25, after preparing three winners on the 10-race card. Victories by Global Machine, Tuts and Adira moved the trainer to eight successes for the season.
Global Machine gave Cunningham his first winner on the programme. With Richie Shakes riding, the Hedge Fund-Sparing Time progeny won the 5 1/2-furlong, or 1,100-metre, Optional Claiming event for $500,000-$400,000 horses, open to three-year-olds and upward as well as native-bred six-year-olds and upward non-winners of four. Global Machine finished 2 1/4 lengths clear of Skyrizi, partnered by Tevin Foster, while Salud, ridden by Jaheim Anderson, was third. The final time was 1:09.0, after splits of 24.1, 49.0 and 1:02.1.
Cunningham’s second winner came through Tuts, who scored by three lengths over the straight 4-furlong, or 800-metre, trip. In the $350,000-$250,000 Optional Claiming contest for three-year-olds and upward, Tuts had Foster aboard and defeated Undisclosdlocation with Tyrese Anderson, and Restoration with Demar Williams. The clock showed 48.3, with earlier fractions of 23.3 and 35.3.
Adira completed the three-win day for the stable, producing a strong move under Shakes in the 6 1/2-furlong, or 1,300-metre, Restricted Allowance II. The race was for native-bred five-year-olds and upward non-winners of four, along with imported five-year-olds and upward non-winners of three. The Hedge Fund-Thisgirlisonfire mare kept on to beat Princess Fiannie, ridden by Foster, by half a length, with Ruby’s Light and Anderson next. Her winning time was 1:22.0, following fractions of 24.0, 47.4 and 1:14.2.
Tuts captured the sixth race on the Monday card, while Global Machine’s victory came in the second event.
