Cashan's Debut Album Climbs Jamaican Reggae Charts as Roaring Lion Tops 800K Views
Reggae vocalist Cashan has reached a notable turning point in her career following strong chart movement for her first studio album, Here Comes Cashan. The 13-song release has entered both the Apple iTunes Jamaica Reggae Albums Chart and the Apple Music Jamaica Top Reggae Albums Chart, pointing to rising interest in her music across local and overseas audiences. The project currently holds the number three spot on the iTunes listing and number seven on the Apple Music chart.
Further fueling the album's traction is Roaring Lion, her joint effort with Richie Spice, which has cleared more than 800,000 views on YouTube and ranks among the record's most prominent cuts. "Watching Roaring Lion surpass 800,000 views on YouTube has been one of the biggest moments of my career," Cashan said. "The response has been overwhelming and proves that authentic reggae music continues to resonate with audiences worldwide." "Sharing this song with Richie Spice, someone I've admired for years, made the experience even more special. It has inspired me to keep creating music that uplifts people and represents Jamaica with pride," she added.
The tracklist also includes Changes, a socially aware duet with Yaksta that takes on several present-day issues while offering a note of perseverance and optimism. Cashan named it among her top picks on the project. "It reflects what so many people are experiencing today," she said. "Having Yaksta on the track brought another level of fire and authenticity. I'm grateful for the support the album has received, and I can't wait for more people around the world to hear it."
Cashan characterises the collection as a contemporary roots-reggae body of work that respects the genre's lineage while introducing a distinct outlook. "This isn't just another reggae album," she said. "It's the voice of a new generation of roots reggae, where rebel spirit, Jamaican culture and modern street energy come together. I stayed true to reggae's foundation while bringing my own perspective and sound."
The album underscores her aim to pair veteran performers with emerging reggae talent. "Every collaboration came together naturally and I believe we've created music that people will enjoy for years," she said.
Here Comes Cashan adds to a growing list of achievements for the ascending artist, who has outlined ambitious plans ahead. "Winning a Grammy is one of my goals, but it's about more than awards," Cashan said. "I want to become one of the leading voices in modern reggae, represent Jamaica with pride, tour the world and create music that stands the test of time."
