Cassava Piece Bar Shooting Leaves One Dead, Police Hunt Gunmen in St Andrew

St Andrew, Jamaica: Cassava Piece Bar Shooting – Police have launched an investigation into a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 30-year-old man in St Andrew on Sunday night.

The deceased has been identified as Jerome Ellis, otherwise known as “Keno,” a resident of the Cassava Piece community.

According to reports from the police, the fatal incident unfolded shortly after 11:00 p.m. at a bar located along Cassava Piece Road. Investigators say two masked men entered the establishment, where one reportedly ordered a drink while the other engaged Ellis in a brief exchange.

Moments later, loud explosions were heard inside the bar, sending patrons into panic as the armed men fled the scene.

Ellis was later found suffering from what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital by emergency responders, where he was pronounced dead.

The Constant Spring police are now pursuing leads as they intensify efforts to locate the suspects linked to the shooting .

Authorities have not yet disclosed a motive for the killing as investigations continue.
