Charles Town Maroon landmarks featured on Portland drive-through

A video tour through Portland parish presents a roadside look at Charles Town, a Maroon community reached while travelling north from Plum Valley along the B1 Buff Bay to Balcarres Road.

The route first passes Charles Town Primary School on the right before entering Charles Town. The Buff Bay River runs to the left of the roadway, while Charles Town Cave is identified a short distance to the right.

Other points noted along the drive include Charles Town Gospel Hall, also on the right, and Plum Valley Cave, located a few metres farther in the same direction. On the left, the tour points out the Charles Town Maroon Council, Charles Town Museum and Asafu Yard.

The journey continues past Refuge Temple, Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, before moving along Nelson Street, which is also part of the B1 Buff Bay to Balcarres Road. The drive then enters Red Hills.
