Montego Bay Chamber Head Jason Russell Urges Labour Law Reform

St. James

Jason Russell, president of the Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce, has urged a review of Jamaica’s labour legislation. He said the framework should be brought into better balance because, in his view, it leans too heavily in favour of workers.

Russell made the comments to journalists this week after being returned as chamber president. He said existing employment laws create an excessive burden for operators of micro and small businesses.
