Christian Eriksen Recovering After Medical Scare In Denmark Friendly

Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen fell ill during his country's friendly against Ukraine in Odense, but the Danish Football Association said he had regained consciousness and was in good condition.

Play was halted in the 65th minute after Eriksen dropped to the turf. He later left the field on foot while being assisted by medical staff.

Team doctor Morten Boesen said Eriksen was unconscious for a short time before making a quick recovery. Boesen also indicated that Eriksen's implantable cardioverter defibrillator seemed to have worked as expected.

Eriksen is now having additional checks as doctors try to establish what caused the episode. Officials said he has also passed on greetings to his teammates and supporters.
