Clarendon man charged in 2024 killing of St Ann retiree Allan Rattigan

ST ANN, Jamaica — Authorities have laid a murder charge against a second Clarendon man in the 2024 killing of 72-year-old Allan Rattigan at his residence in Pyramid Point, Ocho Rios, St Ann.

The man is 23-year-old Ashan Gallimore of Rectory Road, May Pen, Clarendon.

St Ann's Bay police say that at about 10:00 pm on Monday, November 18, 2024, Rattigan's caregiver found him at the house with his hands and feet tied. Officers were called, and he was taken to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Investigators later established that Rattigan had invited Gallimore and four other men to the property before the attack. Police say a dispute broke out during the visit and Rattigan was strangled.

An undetermined amount of jewellery, shoes and a black cellular phone belonging to the deceased were taken during the incident, police said.

Gallimore was arrested and charged after investigators obtained a recorded statement that implicated him. He is due in court on Friday, October 9.

Last year, police also charged 23-year-old Malik Hepburn of Bucknor, Clarendon, in connection with Rattigan's murder.
