
Corporate Area Traffic Officer Dies in Early-Morning Bustamante Highway Crash
CLARENDON, Jamaica— A 32-year-old police constable has died from injuries he suffered when his vehicle overturned along the Bustamante Highway in Clarendon on Friday morning.
The man has been identified as Constable Shavaine Davy, who was posted to the Public Safety and Traffic Enforcement Branch (PSTEB) in the Corporate Area. Davy came from Craighead in northern Manchester and had previously served with the Department of Correctional Services.
Initial reports indicate that shortly before 5:00 am, Davy was travelling in a Toyota Premio motorcar on the Bustamante Highway when he lost control of the vehicle in the Swansea area, causing it to overturn.
He was rushed to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
