Bermuda health officials flag herbal sex aids laced with undeclared drugs

Authorities are cautioning men in Barbados who seek natural sexual performance aids after several products sold as herbal remedies were shown to contain undeclared prescription medicines.

The Bermuda Ministry of Health has told the public to discontinue use of multiple erectile dysfunction and sexual enhancement items. Government laboratory analysis confirmed that the products held one or more prescription-only drugs that did not appear on their packaging.

Health Minister Kim Wilson said the items present major health dangers, especially for people with existing medical conditions or those already on other medicines.

"Our priority is to protect the health and safety of our community. These products are being marketed as natural remedies, but they contain undisclosed prescription-only drugs that can cause serious harm," Wilson said.

She advised anyone who bought the products to cease use at once and seek medical advice if adverse effects occur.

The products named are Butterfield's 100% Organic Men's All Night Pill; Butterfield's 100% Organic Men's Black Leopard Male Enhancer Honey; Butterfield's 100% Organic Electrifying Royal Energy Honey; and Butterfield's 100% Organic Feel Good Electrifying Gummies.

The ministry listed possible adverse effects that include prolonged or painful erections needing emergency care, sudden loss of sight or hearing, sharp falls in blood pressure, severe allergic reactions, heart attack, stroke, and irregular heartbeat.

Officials further warned shoppers about other goods sold under the "Royal Honey" name, saying comparable products have likewise tested positive for undeclared prescription drugs.

Environmental Health Officers are still watching developments and pressing the public to take care when buying items marketed as natural treatments for erectile dysfunction or sexual performance.
