Danielle Williams, Adelle Tracey tune up at USATF LA Grand Prix
World Championships 100m hurdles champion Danielle Williams and Jamaica’s women’s 1500m record holder Adelle Tracey are set for another test at the USATF LA Grand Prix at Allyson Felix Field today as they build towards the Jamaica National Championships.
The meet, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold stop, wraps up today with Williams, Tracey and shot putter Rajindra Campbell listed among the Jamaican entrants.
Williams enters the 100m hurdles against a quality cast led by American world leader Masai Russell. The race also features former world record holder Kendra Harrison, Tonea Marshall and Cyrena Samba-Mayela of France.
Tracey will run an outdoor 1500m for only the second time this season, looking to lower her 4:07.32 season’s best before the national championships. Her opposition includes Ethiopia’s Worknesh Mesele and Saron Berhe, American Emily MacKay and Lithuania’s Gabija Galvydyte.
Campbell, who raised Jamaica’s shot put record earlier this year, should also be in the mix. Americans Joe Kovacs, Roger Steen and Jordan Geist are among the athletes he will face.
