Daryl Vaz Reviews JPS Report On Jamaica-Wide Power Outage
Energy Minister Daryl Vaz says Jamaica Public Service has sent him an initial account of the electricity failure that affected customers across the island on Friday night.
Many JPS users lost service for several hours during the disruption. Supply returned on Saturday, and the company said it would examine what caused the problem.
The Office of Utilities Regulation had required JPS to provide its findings on the outage by yesterday. In an update to the media this morning, Vaz said the document is now before him and is being assessed.
He added that he is still communicating with JPS about outages reported in some communities today.
